Adele Imrie – Principal, Toronto
Adele has served as a senior financial executive for over 35 years with extensive experience in commercial real estate, P3 infrastructure project development and asset management with 2 private, fast paced entrepreneurial companies. P3 projects included the Billy Bishop Pedestrian Tunnel, residences for York University and CAMH, social assisted housing, detention centres and a federal data centre. As assets under management grew from a market value of $66M to a value of over $1.3B, Adele was responsible for consolidated corporate and project annual audited financial reporting according to IFRS and ASPE standards, monthly internal reporting including budgets and cash flow forecasts, and quarterly asset management and compliance reporting to lenders and institutional investors. Adele has a successful track record of securing and managing complex, multi layered project debt/equity financings and operating bank facilities. She has comprehensive real estate tax knowledge, overseeing corporate and partnership income tax compliance and planning including entity structuring for projects in Canada and the U.S. With strong organizational, leadership and negotiating skills, she has led investment analysis, property acquisition/disposition due diligence and financial modelling to close transactions profitably.
In addition to her professional experience, Adele has over 30 years of NFP board service in the education and health care sectors. Adele has served as Board Chair and Chair of the Audit and Finance committee for Kingsway College School, the Bishop Strachan School and the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. She also served as Chair of the CODE Foundation which promotes literacy in developing countries and currently sits on the St Elizabeth board.
Adele is a CPA CA and holds an undergraduate degree from U of T and a diploma in Investigative and Forensic Accounting from Rotman School of Management.
