André is a passionate bilingual executive manager with over 20 years of experience in financial restructuring of companies. He has a history of helping small and medium size companies (SMEs) in their financial challenges and refinancing.
As partner in advisory services specializing in companies’ financial restructuring for two medium size accounting firms serving SMEs, André gained the invaluable experience in corporate financial turnaround., and can wisely advise business managers and shareholders to identify practical and realistic solutions.
André has been involved in many restructuring mandates under the protection of the Companies Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) as well as the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA). Although it might look less glorious, a fact remains that it is a company normal life cycle. The downturn of the economy and an ever-changing environment makes it only natural to deal with such unfortunate situations that companies cannot always control, and Andre has advised companies through such difficult environment for them to emerge as successful solvent companies. The solutions to limit losses included sales process of a portion or the totality of the business, changes in the way they operate and product line, as well as refinancing.
With a human approach, André leads managers through the restructuring process. He masters financial modeling such as budgeting, long-term financial projections as well as short-term cash flow projections. André holds a bachelor’s degree in administration, accounting from the University of Sherbrooke. He is a CPA, CA since 1991. His early experience in the private sector lead him to many restructuring situations. He decided to perfect his expertise in companies’ turnaround and obtained a degree of Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (« CIRP ») in 2001. In that same year he became a Licenced Insolvency Trustee.
