Barbara Palmegiani – Principal, Toronto
Barbara has over 25 years of experience as a forward-looking strategic partner and financial steward, and advisor. She has previously held full-time progressive positions within the finance function for large multi-nationals, medium sized entrepreneurial organizations, and start-ups. Her last 7 years in industry were spent as a Vice-President of Finance and CFO. These executive positions provided senior level experience that has given her a deep understanding of how to create financial and operational excellence, the breadth of knowledge to lead cross-functionally, along with insight of how to meet the needs of today’s Founders, CEO’s and BOD’s.
Alongside her private sector path, Barbara maintains a part-time parallel academic path. These academic teaching experiences helped fuel her professional growth. Teaching experience: credit management and accounting courses for both the B. Comm. and MBA levels at several Ontario universities. Barbara also teaches the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA) accreditation program, as well as co-leads the design and facilitation of CPA’s Executive Professional Development Workshops, training senior financial leaders to excel in their roles as a Controller, Vice-President Finance or CFO.
Barbara holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto, earned her FCPA, FCMA accounting designation, and she proudly earned the title of Fellow of the Order, designated by the initials FCPA, which formally recognizes those members who have rendered outstanding services to the profession, or whose achievements in their careers or in the community have earned them distinction and brought honor to the profession. She continues today as an active member of the CPA community.
