Jessie Ju – Principal, Toronto
Jessie has led change management in both private and public organizations for more than fifteen years in several countries across a variety of industries, including real estate, manufacturing, distribution, professional services, and financial services.
Driven by a passion for efficiency, Jessie has a proven track record of helping her clients set up business units, revitalize company culture, integrate acquisitions, and facilitate scaling with the result of driving millions in new revenue streams and beating industry benchmarks. She is focused on stakeholder management, digital transformation, operation efficiency, and capital structure optimization.
As CFO at Nabco Canada, Jessie acquired and integrated eight companies across five provinces in Canada and US over a two-year period with a focus on creating a people-driven culture to deliver class-leading customer experience. During this period, she was also responsible for cross-border capital management, human capital retention, and navigating a complex regulatory environment while managing the reporting relationship to the board in Japan. Under her guidance, Jessie provided the leadership required to transition the multi-generational family owned and operated business into a publicly traded global organization.
While at Novacore Communities, Jessie implemented the necessary ERP system to drive finance and operational excellence, raised millions in capital for corporate growth through her personal private equity network, and developed all the required financial and managerial information packages for all stakeholders.
As CFO at Norseman Construction, Jessie transformed the company to be fully digital, optimized the capital structure through debt financing, and doubled the bottom line through cost reduction and a simplified organizational structure. Her strong accounting and finance experience ensured the company survived the housing market slowdown in the GTA. Norseman was awarded Contractor of the Year in December 2019 by BILD.
In addition to her CFO role, Jessie has been consistently recognized for her ability to consistently provide transformative and actionable strategic insights for organizations. This, when combined with her strong financial acumen, and her natural ability to connect and build rapport with stakeholders, has made her an integral part of multiple management teams throughout her career.
Jessie is a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Administration specialized in Accounting from York University. She is President of the CPA Ontario – Toronto West Association and an active committee member of Financial Executives International (FEI). Jessie is passionate about helping young people and has provided mentorship to finance protégés through Luminari Inc.
