Kathryn Newton – Ottawa
Kathryn has over 30 years of experience in finance, working with small businesses, charities and large scale not-for-profit organizations. She brings a wealth of experience in strategic resource and change management, performance management, operational management and stakeholder relations. Kathryn is recognized for her problem solving abilities and has demonstrated expertise in managing significant budgetary pressures through reallocation, cost containment exercises and securing new funding sources, in line with organizational mandates, key missions and programs.
Kathryn’s professional experience includes senior level positions in various charities and not for profits as CFO, board member, treasurer and auditor. These positions cover a wide variety of sectors including; Social Services, Social Housing, Supportive Housing, Foundations, and Faith Based organizations. Most recently Kathryn was Chief Financial Officer for the Ottawa Mission/the Ottawa Mission Foundation with an annual operating budget of $14M combined. Among her key responsibilities, she led fiscal initiatives focused on the long term financially sustainability of a full-service homeless shelter which provides shelter to two thousand clients annually plus meals to thousands and assistance to numerous individuals through education/ housing supports /addiction / health support programs including palliative care for those who are homeless or are at risk of homelessness in the Ottawa area.

Kathryn is a CPA, CA and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick.
