Michael Krebs – Principal, Montreal
With over 37 years of experience in finance and operations, Michael Krebs has built a notable career in the telecommunications, high technology, and online industries, working for both private and public companies in the service, retail, and manufacturing sectors.
Since leaving his position of Chief Financial Officer at Beyond The Rack in July 2014, Michael has acted as consultant in numerous ventures including the start-up of an app that would bring online intelligence to brick and mortar as well as help building business plans for newly created websites including Temptbrands.com (went live in July 2015).
Since taking on the position of Chief Financial Officer at Beyond the Rack in mid-2009 (until July 2014), Michael played a pivotal role in supporting the exponential growth of the Montreal-based private online shopping club through external funding from VCs and other institutions, as well as through the implementation of operational and administrative controls and procedures.
Prior to this, Michael held the position of CFO at Ice.com, a family-owned online jewelry retailer which he helped convert into a VC-backed corporation. For a number of years before that, Michael carried out executive responsibilities as President and CEO, as well as CFO of ITF Optical Technologies, where he implemented critical financial initiatives to restructure and optimize the organization. He spent over eight years as VP and Treasurer of Bell Mobility, where, among other accomplishments, he listed the company on the NYSE. And for the 12 years leading up to his executive profile, Michael shaped his career working for BCE and Bell Canada, where he raised billions of dollars in public financing.
Michael Krebs obtained a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and an MBA in finance, both from McGill University.
