Vincent van Schagen – Principal, Toronto
Vincent brings more than 20 years of international financial experience, working as an auditor for both mid-sized companies as well as listed multinationals and as a senior finance executive for multiple listed international organizations. He has worked in various industries, including retail, apparel, hardware & software development and manufacturing.
One of Vincent’s many accomplishments includes implementing JSOX compliance within Europe for Asics (Japanese sports brand) by setting up procedures and risk assessments and implementing internal controls. He also expanded the local presence of Opticon (stock listed manufacturer of barcode scanning equipment) by setting up and starting up new subsidiaries in Asia and South America. Vincent led various reorganizations in order to increase profitability, improve cash flows and establish growth. In his position of CFO of Opticon, he was responsible for a global group of companies in 14 different countries. These responsibilities included stakeholder relations, Finance & Accounting, Corporate Governance, HR, Legal and external reporting under IFRS and US GAAP.
Vincent prides himself in being a true Global CFO, working in Europe, North & South America and Asia for the past 12 years, and feels comfortable working in different regulatory environments and industries.
Vincent is a licenced Certified Public Accountant in the Netherlands and holds a Masters in Financial Accounting from Nyenrode Business University the Netherlands. At this university he has also worked as a part time Masters graduate thesis advisor. Vincent holds a green belt in Lean Six Sigma.
